1.   How can I raise money for my child's school?

In your profile, under Settings be sure to select your child's school.  As you Write Recommendations and friends you invite join we make donations on your behalf.  For every service provider who joins based on your recommendation, we make another donation.

2.   Do consumers pay anything to use this service?

No, MyServiceVine provides free access for consumers.

3.   Why should I post more recommendations?

MyServiceVine helps connect you and your friends with outstanding service providers. The more recommendations each person writes, the better the chances that you can find an outstanding provider when you need one.  We've also added a little incentive. Every time you post a recommendation, we make a donation to your charity.  So in addition to building the comunity, you're also sending money to a worthy cause.

4.   Why do you call them Recommendations instead of Reviews?

On traditional review sites, we've seen a lot of poor reviews, but those reviews don't bring us any closer to finding the best service provider for our job.  We're interested in positive recommendations from our friends to find those providers who deliver exceptional service.  Providing recommendations of service providers you would use again helps your friends solve their problem by providing answers, not just steering them away from another wrong choice.

5.   When posting a recommendation, why is the first question “Would you recommend this provider to your friends?” Why not get right to the rating?

We think this question sums up the review process.  If you would recommend this provider to a friend, then we want to hear more, and we think your friends will too.  If you would not recommend the provider, we want to know why. However, we reserve the right to screen recommendations where you say you would not recommend the provider.  The goal of MyServiceVine is to build a community of friends who recommend outstanding providers to each other, and we're most interested in your recommendations of those great providers.

6.   I want to recommend someone but I don’t see their Service Category or Business Type listed. What should I do?

Contact us.  We're happy to review your suggestion.

 

7.   How can I invite more than one person at a time to join MyServiceVine?

You can quickly and easily invite friends who are already in your contact list from your email account.  Click on Friends in the main menu to get started. You can import contacts from most major email providers.

 

8.   Can I see what others see when they view my profile?

Yes. While you control who you connect with on MyServiceVine, we still value your privacy.  From your profile, click on the link "My Profile As Seen By Others."  You can preview your profile in another window.

9.   How can I promote MyServiceVine as a fundraiser for my school?

We are happy to provide promotional cards for you to distribute at school functions. Please contact our sales staff for more information.

 

10.   How do I designate a charity?

Visit the Settings area under your profile.  You can designate up to four charities amongst which to divide your contributions.

11.   Can I dispute a review?

If you are a provider subscribing to our Gold or Silver packages, yes.  Any reviews where the author indicated he would not recommend you to a friend are placed in your On Hold queue so that you may contact the author and attempt to resolve the dispute.

12.   How can I change my membership level?

Service Providers can change their Member Level by contacting our sales staff.  We will be happy to assist you.

 

13.   Can I post photos or brochures?

Service providers with our Silver or Gold packages can upload a logo, photos, professional certifications, and brochures. Visit the Attachments area under My Profile for more information.

14.   How is Average Rating calculated?

Average rating is calculated by taking the mean or average of all recommendations posted for the provider.
